Tango Beginner Term – 8 Weeks

  6pm to 7pm    plus 15 minutes practice session after class

No experience or partner required - everyone welcome.

​​​Our beginner program runs across two progressive terms - A and B.

New dancers can join at the start of each term and during the first two weeks.

Term A:         2 November – 21 December 2026

Term B:         11 January – 1 March 2027

Each term builds confidence, connection, and technique step by step, giving you a strong foundation in authentic Argentine Tango.

Term A – Introduction to Tango: Fundamentals & Basic Movements

Term A is your first step into Argentine Tango. You’ll learn how to embrace comfortably, connect with a partner, and move together with ease. This term builds the essential fundamentals - posture, balance, and walking technique - that make tango feel natural and enjoyable. It’s a welcoming, structured introduction designed for absolute beginners.

Term B – Introduction to Tango: Connection & Flow

Term B continues your introduction to tango by exploring new movement pathways and expanding your confidence in dancing together. You’ll refine your embrace, deepen the connection to a partner and music, and walk while learning how to move with more flow. This term is ideal for beginners who want to keep building skills step by step.

 

​Progression Requirement

Learners can start in either Term A or Term B. To progress to the Open Class, beginners need to complete both terms, in any order.

Stay & Dance

After each class, enjoy a free 15‑minute practica to reinforce what you learned. Then join our open practica at 8:15pm if you’d like to continue dancing.
